Adult Individual Counselling (RCC)
Clinical counselling can help people find support, enhance awareness of current challenges, and develop new skills. Our counsellors are all active Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or Registered Social Workers (RSW). All of our counselling professionals have Master's degrees and additional specialized training. Many extended health plans in BC cover these services and some direct billing is available. As active members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW), and/or Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), we have all met specific educational and training criteria, and practice according to an ethical code of conduct and standards of practice.
Choosing a counsellor can be an important decision, and we place great value on working together and meeting clients where they are at. We look forward to meeting you.

EMDR Therapy (RSW) - New and Existing Clients
What is EMDR? EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an extensively researched and effective psychotherapy method. EMDR therapy has been proven to help people recover from trauma, PTSD symptoms, and has also been shown to be helpful for symptoms and disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed overwhelming and traumatic memories in the brain.
For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies. EMDR therapy does NOT require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviours resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR is a therapy that encourages a client to briefly focus on an overwhelming or trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements). Research shows that bilateral (back and forth) stimulation reduces vividness and emotion associated with the memories.
