I am a Registered Psychologist in BC (virtual and in-person).

Area of Focus:

• Psychoeducational Assessments (school age to young adults)

• Counselling support (attachment/emotion focused and somatic therapy)

• OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders

About Rachel:

Rachel is a registered psychologist in BC and Alberta.

Her formal training was completed at UBC in School and Child Psychology.

At Fairfield Mental Health, she can offer counselling and psychoeducational assessments for learning disabilities, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and anxiety disorders.

Ensuring the comfort of children (or young adults) is the primary focus of hers when engaging in the assessment process. She understands that navigating the ‘system’ can be overwhelming and intimidating, so providing a safe place to land is her core focus.

Rachel also offers counselling services for children and adults. With a child psychology background, she practices with an attachment focused lens and works toward processing patterns that have been conditioned early on.

Rachel has currently taken an interest in somatic-focused therapy. This will help guide processing work in the body and expand our tolerance with those less-comfy emotions.

Overall, building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is Rachel’s primary focus, while also being able to lighten the mood with a shared sense of humour.

I am a Registered Psychologist (#2207) offering adult individual psychology services in Victoria, B.C.

I completed my Master’s in Counselling with City University of Seattle and, prior to this, earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology at the University of Alberta.

In 2019, I founded Fairfield Psychology (now Fairfield and Oak Bay Mental Health) to provide community-based mental health and wellness services in Victoria.

Studying family dynamics, intimate relationships, human sexuality, and numerous other subjects in my ecology degree helped to instill in me a holistic systems perspective. In 2013 and 2014, I was invited to return to this program as a University instructor. I also worked in community settings for several years and, more recently, in private practice.

Building a strong working relationship is one of the most effective aspects of therapy and one I take seriously.

I am passionate about working with others using a trauma-informed approach to understand and integrate their experience of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.

I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).* I am also a Level I Qi Gong practitioner (with Dr. Aung).

Finding the words for an experience or emotion can be difficult, making it hard to accept their impact. Collaborating with a counsellor can help us identify and give a voice to the parts of ourselves we have learned to silence or ignore.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) (#18463) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.

I offer individual counselling for adults age 18 and above.

I have an interest in using a blend of the Internal Family Systems Approach (IFS) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I also incorporate evidence-based therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness-based approaches.

My approach to counselling is relational, emphasizing the uniqueness and resilience each person holds. I work to empower people as they discover their capacity for change, reflection, and deeper connection at a pace that honours the individual.

I believe that healing occurs in relationships where the environment is warm, confidential, and non-judgmental.

Whether you are living with grief, trauma, depression, anxiety or relational distress, you are welcome here.
